Laws of the Guild

Jurisdiction and Scope

These statutes apply on Guild property, during guild-sanctioned events and operations, and in any circumstance where a member publicly represents the adventurer's guild (if not already handled by Larova or other authority). They govern both adventurers and staff. external law, such as crown edict, larovan authority, and allied faction treaties, may supersede guild process. In such cases, the guild will cooperate, but will not surrender internal records or personnel without review.

Punishments and Their Respective Authority Tiers

These punishments may be given out to individuals infringing on eldcastle law, tiered by who that punishment may be given out by

Warning

Given by any Guild Staff member

A verbal warning given by any member of Guild Staff to whoever needs it. Not pertaining to violence at all, an example of a verbal warning is "Stop that, or you'll be fined."

Captivity

Given by MR2 and higher

If a punished individual, for any of the previous punishments for a crime, especially forceful removal, fights back against efforts to otherwise evict/fine them, then they may be detained in the dungeon. This would be for a period determined by HR+. Typically, infringements like minor physical altercations would warrant 1 OOC day, while more severe actions would warrant up to 1 OOC week.

Ban

Given by HR and higher

If an individual commits crimes in a spree, similar to execution, but does not necessarily commit those crimes in a violent manner, they can be banned from Eldcastle as an alternative to other punishments. During the discussion with an HR+ (typically, the person who originally banned them), they may attempt to reenter. If they are caught before that time, execution is often warranted.

Fine

Given by LR3 and higher

An amount of money (up to the issuer of the fine, but nothing extreme) that a person who commits a crime must pay, so that the punishment is not escalated to a further matter.

Fines typically range based on the value of the stolen property, medical expenses incurred, or 30-50 copper for trespassing and a mandated search.

Removal of Hands

Given by MR2 and higher

Typically, and almost always only as a punishment for severe infringements that exceed prior efforts, the removal of hands may accompany any of the foregoing punishments. It is up to the discretion of MR2+ whether it is necessary, and it REQUIRES PTC of the infringing individual.

Captivity Rules

If an individual wishes to escape captivity, they must ask the HR who approved their placement in the dungeon. This would be approved only if deemed reasonable.

If a prisoner wants to leave earlier, they can pay bail (if applicable), but still must be approved by HR+.

Requested/Forceful Removal

Given by MR1 and higher

Self-explanatory by definition, removal from Eldcastle grounds, whether forceful or requested, is enforced on those who are perpetual problem-causers. The time of which, OOC or IC, is decided by the individual handing out said punishment.

Execution

Given by HR and higher

In the event of egregious offenses to Eldcastle law, oftentimes the accumulation of a spree of crimes or the murder of an adventurer/guildstaff, execution may be permitted and authorized by only HR and higher. The charged may be able to plead a case before their sentence is carried out.

Any and all OOC disputes, such as arguments over PTC/PTK, unfair imprisonment, or otherwise complications, must be either handled by one authority level higher (i.e. HR -> CR), or moderation in events such as granting RTK, FRP, or powerplay.

OOC Disputes

DEPARTMENT STATUTES

Clinicians are prohibited from practicing while impaired, assaulting patients, abandoning the clinic while on duty, or distrubuting controlled substances without sanction; sedation and aggressive intervention are restricted to senior (mr1+) approval. the clinic is neutral ground for treatment.

scribes are bound to preserve records faithfully. forgery, deliberate omission, and sale of guild information are treated as institutional crimes. if you cannot tell the truth, you do not speak for the archives.

keepers (and other authorized enforcers) may remove, restrain, or detain on guild property only when necessary. they are held to higher standards of presentation and restrain; "because i can" is absolutely not a valid reason for action.

questgivers hold operational authority oocly only. leveraging host status to coerce in-character compliance, favors, or rrp is misconduct. staff titles do not make your character above all.

GUILD LAW

Entering Eldcastle

Both Adventurers, the common man, and Larovan Bannermen are permitted within Eldcastle grounds. However, weapons may not be OPENLY BRANDISHED or otherwise waved around. If gates are ICly closed, they are closed for a reason.

Physical Assault

Of any manner

Physical assault falls under the categorization of any physical altercation with another Adventurer or common citizen, including Larovan bannermen (even if temporary). This includes but is not limited to, unwarranted hits, attempting murder, or related altercation.

First offense immediately demands requested/forceful removal from the Eldcastle grounds. If resistance is shown, captivity and in severe cases, execution or crippling is warranted.

Stealing / Theft

Of common items or petty thievery

Stealing of common items would blanket over any such item of a value typically lower than 1 Gold if cumulative, or 50 copper if a single item.

A fine is issued to the offender equal to the value of the stolen item, as well as the return of said item. If this is not adhered to, immediate captivity is warranted.

Threatening

Or otherwise antagonizing

Threatening or otherwise antagonizing any individual on Eldcastle grounds, especially those of Guildstaff, is prohibited. This includes starting fights, making baseless accusations, or otherwise causing trouble.

An initial warning may be given upon first offense. Further offenses will warrant a fine, then requested removal, and forceful removal. If forceful removal is resisted, then capture and captivity is warranted.

Trespassing

Any Guildstaff only area, behind closed doors, etc

Trespassing is defined as the unlawful or unauthorized entry into Guildstaff specific areas of Eldcastle. Such areas would be behind the Scribe counter, and any room and/or area beyond the Main hall and its respective building, especially the second floor.

A fine will be immediately issues to intentional or repeated trespassers, with forceful removal if the fine is not adhered to. Resistance to either of these measures warrants captivity.

Stealing / Theft

Of items considered sacred to the Guild, or of extreme value

Stealing of items of extreme value shall be categorized as anything holding a cumulative value over 1 gold, or a single item value over 50 copper. This especially includes items significant to the Guild, with archives and documents ALL falling into this category.

Immediate removal of hands is oftentimes warranted via this severe of theft, with captivity following the removal of hands if the offender resists. Execution may very well be a possibility if any Adventurers or Guildstaff are harmed in the way of the theft.
